Kathy Cherrie Walker, 44, of Memphis passed away suddenly on Monday April 24, 2023.  She was born in Memphis on September 26, 1978 to Johnnie and Essie Parram Walker.  

Her funeral service was held on May 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Green Grove MB Church with Reverend Melvin Jones in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

At age 11 she professed a hope in Jesus Christ and joined Green Grove MB Church where she was an active member.  She later joined Olivet Baptist Church and Victory in Christ Christian Church (both in Memphis).  She worked in the Women's Ministry and several other activities.

She was employed with the University of Memphis Health Science College under the leadership of Dr. Richard Bloomer.  

She was educated in the Hardeman County public schools and the University of Memphis where she received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree.  Her goal was to obtain a doctorate degree.  

She had an infectious smile and vibrant spirit that affected everyone with which she came in contact.  She had a very positivie pesonality.

Kathy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Maliya Conway; her parents and many other relatives and friends that will truly miss her.
