Keenan Jamahl Reaves
August 26, 1985 ~ January 26, 2025
39 Years Old
Keenan Jamahl Reaves was born to Billy and the late Gussie Reaves of Bolivar, TN.
He made his arrival on this earth August 26, 1985.
Keenan graduated from Middleton High School in 2003. Afterwards, he attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN.
He gave his life to Christ, was baptized, and attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Junction, TN. He later attended Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church where he loved worshipping with a flourishing ministry.
Keenan loved the art of cosmetology and barbering. He began his barber career by attending International Barber & Style College in Nashville, TN. After receiving his certification, he worked at Desired Kuts Barber Shop where he faithfully worked for several years. He always had a dream of being an entrepreneur. So, he moved back to his hometown of Bolivar, TN to serve his community. In 2019, his dream came true, and he opened Major League Barber Shop. He gave back to the kids of the community each year by having a Back-to-School Celebration where he gave away free haircuts, provided fun activities, and food to start the momentum of a new school year. Keenan’s most recent accomplishment was becoming a Master Barber Instructor. He had the desire to further his education and decided to attend Barber School 1 in Jackson, TN where he completed his required courses and graduated with pride.
On August 26, 2019, Keenan’s whole life changed. The best birthday present he had ever received was a bouncing baby boy. From that day forward, Keenan cherished every moment spent with his son. Brenten was and will always be his pride and joy.
Keenan departed this life on January 26, 2025, at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, TN.
Keenan leaves to cherish his memory: his father Billy Reaves; one son, Brenten; one brother, Brandon Reaves; two nephews, Xavier and Kaleb Reaves; four uncles, Donnie Barber, William (Lana) Reaves, James (Pam) Reaves, Ray (LaVeta) Reaves; nine aunts, Peggy Henry (LaVon) Gurley, Alice Barber Gardner, Carolyn (Robert) Whitmore, Josephine Perry, Mae Toy Jones, Gwendolyn (JT) Hamer, Jerry Lynn Mason, Pastor Pauline (Michael) Ezell, and Patricia Gibson. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
