Kuryakin Rashad Woods was born on July 5, 1994, in Jackson, TN. to Ameacheko Lavette Woods. The eldest of three children, Shad accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord at an early age and continued to express his belief in a higher power throughout his life.

His funeral service was held on Saqturday September 21, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Reverend Shon Beasley in charge.  The professional service was provided by Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com.

Shad attended Greater Springfield Baptist Church in Bolivar, TN where he and his siblings regularly participated in Sunday School, Bible Study, and Sunday Service.

Shad attended Bolivar Central High School and later enrolled in the Welding Class at Tennessee Technology Center in Whiteville, TN.

Shad enjoyed swimming, singing, fishing, hiking, traveling, music, and drawing. Shad was a lively, outgoing, fun-loving person that could do anything he put his mind to.

He was called home on September 4th, 2024 while incarcerated at the Northwestern Correctional Institute in Tiptonville, TN, at 30 years old.

Shad was looking forward to coming home in 2026.

Shad is survived by: his grandmother, Patricia A. Woods; his mother, Ameacheko L. Woods-Hoyle and his step-dad, Eric Hoyle; his Uncle, Stephen J. Cox; his brother, Antoine T. Genes; and his sister, Porshae L. Woods and nephew Porter Woods. One great aunt; Burnette Woods, four great uncles; Roderick Woods, Kennedy Woods (Mary), Forrest Woods (Shirley), and Rochester Woods. Shad was proceeded in death by his Great-grandmother, Mamie Woods; 2 great aunts and 3great uncles. Shad had several friends that supported him throughout his time away and their loyalty, contributions, phone calls, and letters were very special to Shad and will not be forgotten. Shad is also survived by a host of cousins, & special friends that will continue to cherish his memory.
