Lorene Weaver
March 10, 1940 ~ May 21, 2021 (age 81)
On March 10, 1940, a baby girl came to this earth through the loins of Mr. John and Mrs. Linnie Mae Lassiter Hayes, and they named her Lorene. She was the first born of two daughters which God blessed them with to nurture and train. On May 21, 2021, at the age of 81, God dispatched an angel to Jackson General Hospital, of Jackson, TN to separate the soul of Mother Weaver from an ailing body, transitioning her to a place of rest to await the return of her Lord and Savior.
Her parents, John & Linnie Mae Hayes, her sister, Maxine Hayes Williams, her son, James E. Weaver Jr., and a very special family friend, whom we called, ‘Aunt Louella’ all preceded her in death.
At the age of 12 Lorene accepted Jesus into her heart and became a member of First Street AME Church, Mayfield, KY. When she moved to Detroit, MI, Timothy Baptist Church was her place of worship. Lorene was a member for 20 years serving in various capacities. Later in life she united with Inspiration Church & Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor & Lady L. A. Hyatt. Lorene was born, grew-up, and acquired basic education in Mayfield, KY, during the time of segregation. In her sophomore year, at Dunbar High School, she was one of four students selected to integrate Mayfield High School where she graduated with honors in 1957.
October 31,1959, Lorene exchanged marital vows with Mr. James E. Weaver and kept her vows (sixty-one years, six months, and twenty-one days), until she departed this life. This union produced four children.
Lorene was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who made her house a home. Lorene will certainly be missed.
But, remembered for; devotion to her family, kindness to others, and her relationship with the Lord.
Mother Lorene Weaver’s transition leaves many fond memories for: her husband, Mr. James E. Weaver Sr. of Bolivar, TN; 3 daughters: Dr. Cynthia J. Weaver (Rev. Dr. Larry A.)
