Lucille Rhodes

October 5, 1944 ~ December 8, 2025 (age 81)

After 81 years of bringing joy and happiness to everyone she encountered, our beloved Lucille GreenRhodes has gained her wings to join our Lord.

Mrs. Lucille Green Rhodes was born on October 5, 1944 to the late John Green and Hattie Puckett Green in Hardeman County, TN. She is the 4th child of nine children born to her parents.

Lucille received her education in Hardeman County and began her professional career as the cafeteria manager at Whiteville Elementary School. Determined and driven, she continued her education while working full-time by attending night school. In June 1991, she proudly graduated as a Student of Excellence from West Tennessee Business College of Jackson, earning her diploma in Cosmetology. She went on to become the owner and operator of Lucille’s Hair Care, faithfully serving her community for over 30 years.

She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined the Antioch Baptist Church, Whiteville, TN. Later she joined Elcanaan Baptist Church, Whiteville, TN with her husband, Jesse Calvin Rhodes, where she stayed a faithful member until her health declined in 2024. She served on the Mother’s Board and oversaw the Fellowship Hall at Elcanaan.

Lucille married Jesse Calvin Rhodes on August 4, 1990 creating a blended family with nine children: Her children: Pamela, Cheryl, and Lictoria and her bonus children: Celestine, Reginald, Calvin C., Veronica, and Felicia(granddaughter whom she raised as her own after the death of her mother). Lucille departed this life on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown, TN.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Lictoria M. Woods; bonus daughter, Veronica Rhodes; parents, John and Hattie Green; her sisters, Flo Emma Green and Julia Mae Horton; her brother, Gene Green; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norman and Mable Rhodes; her brothers-in-law, William Rhodes, Ernest Rhodes, and Willie Jerry Rhodes; her sister-in-law, Christine Rhodes; her grandson, Jeremy Kenyon Woods, and her son-in-love, Billy R. Ingram.

Lucille Rhodes was a faithful wife for 35 years. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Jesse Calvin Rhodes; six children: Pamela Ingram and Felicia Rhodes of Bolivar, TN, Cheryl (Connie) Talley of Saulsbury, TN, Celestine (James) Jones of Nashville, TN, Calvin C (Tiffney) Rhodes of Rockford, IL, and Reginald B (Patricia) Rhodes of Stone Mountain, GA. She leaves nineteen grandchildren: Abalonia (Aaron) Young, Para (Charles) Hill, Lawrence Sain, Jr, Natasha (Earl) Glass, Tayden Holt, whom she was raising after his mother passed, Charod (Rachael) Talley, Brianca (Courtney) Johnson, Chadmon Ingram, Corey Ingram, Andre Givens, Antwan (Rachael) Rhodes, Lorenzo Rhodes, Corin Jones, Reginald B. (Shala) Rhodes II, Brandon (Kayla) Rhodes, Bryson Matthews, Daisha Woodruff, Asha Rhodes, and Candice Rhodes.

She also leaves sixteen great-grandchildren: A’Niyah Morrow, Jakeyln Hill, Jaiden Hill, Alexius McHaney, Zakyire Rhodes, Noah Talley, A’Zaria Young, Aaron Young Jr., David Phillips, Natatyana Talley, Javon Sain, Javar Sain, Ariana Sain, Camari Ingram, Landon and London Johnson.She leaves one sister, Doris Parks, Bolivar, TN; she leaves four brothers: Royal (Linda) Green, Bolivar, TN, Larry Green, Whiteville, TN, Leon Green, Milwaukee, WI, and James Green, Rockford, IL; one sister-in-law, Delois Rhodes Wright (Clyde), Westerville, Ohio; host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
