Margie Smith Sain passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2025 surrounded by love. Margie left this world with the same grace and strength that defined her life. She was born to the late Tommy and Elma Crisp on September 21, 1946 in Bolivar, TN. Margie was raised on a farm with her 11 siblings, 10 of whom preceded her in death, Corine, Etta Mae, Dorothy, Austin, Leslie, James, Cornelius, Donnell, Tommy and Raymond.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Herbert Murphy in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Margie followed her family tradition and joined the Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She remained a member there until God called her home. Margie was selfless with a heart of gold. She was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends, putting the needs of others above her own. She was a hard worker and prided herself on providing for her daughters. She retired from the Kilgore Corporation after 30 years of dedicated service.

Margie was united in Holy Matrimony to Minister Odell Sain on April 5, 1997. Minister Odell preceded Margie in death but her love for him continued to live on. Margie loved the simple things in life such as solving crossword puzzles, working in the yard tending to her flowers, leisurely car rides and sitting on the porch with her morning coffee.

Margie leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Martha Jones and Caroline Smith of Middleton, TN, and Shirley Smith of Nashville, TN; one stepson, Daryl Sain (Gloria) of Denver, Co; one sister, Ruth Smith of Middleton, TN; three grandchildren, Tanekia Smith, Shanteka Smith and DeAndre Smith; two great grandchildren, Ariyana Williams and Taniya Henry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
