Marie Taylor
July 10, 1926 ~ October 4, 2021 (age 95)
Marie Lake, Taylor was born September 1, 1928. She grew up with her grandmother Liza Lake in Medon, TN and later with her mother, Blanch Lake and stepfather, Henry Taylor in Hardeman County. She accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Whiteville, TN. She also held a special place in her heart for the members of New Bethel Baptist Church.
She attended school in Madison County and continued her education in Hardeman County. Seventy-nine years ago she joined Mr. Fred Taylor in holy matrimony. To this union, they had three beautiful children, Jerry Taylor, Ernestine Taylor Jones and Blanchie Taylor Tisdale. She always considered Jimmy Tisdale and Rob Jones as her sons-in-law and Jewell Williams Taylor as her daughter-in-law.
Marie had one brother, J.D. Lake and two children that preceded her in death, Jerry & Ernestine. She also had one grand-son, Demetrius Taylor; one granddaughter, Kimberly McKinnie; two nieces, Laquita (Lake) Perry & Gwen (Beauregard) Hurd that also preceded her in death.
She was a lovable person and a pillar of strength that loved her family and church members. She always spoke her mind and whatever came up, came out. To know her, is to love her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Daughter, Blanchie Taylor Tisdale & granddaughter that she raised as her own, Lesa C. Jones both of Bolivar, TN. Four more granddaugh-ters—Petula Taylor Simmons (Reco) of Detroit, MI, Toblin Tisdale (Ed) of Jackson, TN, Tonika Tisdale & Towanda Jones both of Bolivar, TN. Four grandsons—Tobias Tisdale of Nashville, TN; David McKinnie of Memphis TN, Reginald Taylor and Timothy Taylor both of Detroit, MI. One nephew Kevin Lake (Louise) of Hickory Valley, TN. Twenty great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish a host of family members, church family, two special sisters-in-law, Josephine Clark and Lillie Taylor King and a great grandson (Kahlil). He was a constant in her life & she never went a day without asking about his well-being.
