On Friday, February 14th, 2025, at Pine Meadows Healthcare, God dispatched an angel to retrieve the soul of Majorie McClellan from an ailing body and delivered her to a place of eternal peace.

Marjorie was born May 11th, 1939, to the late Jerry Marvin McCarley and Patsy Hunt McCarley.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday February 22, 2025 at 12:00 noon at St. Paul-Skipper Springs MB Church with  Pastor Alge Terry in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

She grew up in Michigan City, MS. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with St. Paul Skipper Spring, MB Church.

She served as an usher until her health failed her.

She was first employed at Bolivar Industrial High School as a cook. This is where she gained her love for cooking. She later became employed with Harmon International in Bolivar, TN. She retired after twenty years of service.

She was united in holy matrimony to Cavat Bass in 1974, who preceded her death. She later united with James Richard “Big Daddy” McClellan in 1984, James also preceded her in death.

Marjorie lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Christian.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Jerry Marvin and Patsy McCarley. She is also preceded in death by three of her children; Gregory Charles, Jacqueline Marie, and Marvin Ray; two sisters, Sallie Godwin and Mae Frances (Eugene) Girley; one brother, Marvin (Ellise) McCarley and one granddaughter, Kiera Sade Love.

Marjorie leaves to cherish her legacy and memory: two sons, Garrett (Melissa) McCarley of Oakland, TN and David (Louise) McCarley of Saulsbury, TN; one son-in-law, Lonnie Love and one daughter-in-law, Julia McCarley, both of Jackson, TN; two nephews, Robert (Carolyn) Hunt of Chesterfield, VA and William Earl (Sandra) Hunt of Jackson, TN whom she helped raise and loved as her own; one aunt, Mary Lucille Hunt; ten grandchildren, twelve greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
