Mattie Lue Rivers

March 17, 1943 ~ June 8, 2026 (age 83)

Mattie Lue Beauregard-Rivers was born on March 17, 1943 to Robert and Lue Bertha Beauregard.

She was the 9 child of 13 children.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Old Bethel MB Church.

Mattie later joined Open Arms Outreach Ministry in Toone, TN, under the leadership of Apostle Earlean Braddock., where she served faithfully on the Mother’s Board until her health failed her.

Mattie Lue graduated at Allen-White School, Whiteville, TN. and went on to build a meaningful career at Harman-Automotive, where she retired after many years.

Her kindness touched many lives through her singing, baking, cooking, poems and plays.

Mattie Lue was united in holy matrimony to Willie Dee Rivers. To this union, 5 children were born, Sheila, Kenneth, Craig, Brian and Ryan.

Mattie was a beautiful, resilient and loving mother that loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always brought joy and love to those around her.

Her love for God, compassion, laughter, and strength will always be remembered by her daughter, Sheila (Mario) Griggs, 3 sons; Craig (Nikki), Brian (Alexandra) and Ryan (Anja) Rivers, 1 sister; Irene (Patrick) Tisdale, 2 brothers; Richard and Joseph (Dorothy) Beauregard, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and many relatives, a very special f riend, Apostle Earlean Braddock and Jeremy Pierre, news caster for Channel 13. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters; Gertrude Henderson, Dorothy, Bernice, Mary Ann, Rosie Ella Beauregard and Elizabeth Gatlin, 3 brothers; Robert, R.V. and baby boy Beauregard and 1 son; Min. Kenneth Rivers, and we take comfort in knowing they have welcomed her with open arms. Though her loss leaves deep sorrow, we find peace in the beautiful memories she left
