Michael Lavern Joy was born January 5, 1962 in Whiteville,Tennessee to Mr. Walter Joy, Jr. and Mrs. Liller Mae Joy. He was called home to eternal rest on November 24, 2020.
His graveside service was held on Saturday November 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the New Hope MB Church with Pastor Arthur L. McKinnie in charge and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.
He attended Bolivar Central High School and was very well known for his multiple athletic abilities. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Michael sang with the choir.
Michael was an employee of ‘Custom Deer Processing’.
Michael met Miss Camille King, and they were united in Holy Matrimony. This union produced one son, Michael Lavern Jr, and one daughter, Mikkell Latreece.
His daughter, Mikkell Latreece preceded him in death. Four siblings; Levi, Ted, Ned, and Walter III also preceded him in death.
Michael's transition left memories of special times spent with his: parents, Mr. Walter & Mrs. Liller Mae Joy, Jr; two sons: Michael Lavern Joy, Jr, and Terrance McTizic; five brothers: Mr. Charlie (Shirley) Joy, Mr. Otha L. Joy, Mr. Worley R. Joy, Mr. Eddie (Peggy) Joy, all of Whiteville, TN, and Mr. Avery (Thelma) Joy of Grand Junction,TN; one Sister: Mrs. Patricia (David) Perry of Saulsbury,TN; a sister-in-law, Ms. Robert Mae Joy; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and a very special friend Ms. Ruby Williamson.
