Nancy (Golden) Griffin

February 26, 1950 ~ June 12, 2026 (age 76)

Nancy Charmayne Golden-Griffin was born on February 26, 1950, in Hardeman County, Tennessee, to the late Elder William Golden and Pearlene Golden.

She peacefully transitioned from this life on June 12, 2026, at Cypress Grove in Jackson, Tennessee.

Her Funeral service was held on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Green Grove MB Church-Bolivar with Pastor William C. Golden.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery..  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com is in charge of the professional service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elder William and Pearlene Golden; her son, Corwendell Perkins; and her brothers, Eddie Golden and Reginald Golden.

At an early age, Nancy accepted Christ as her Savior and later united with Zion Temple Worship Center in Bolivar, Tennessee. In her adult years, she faithfully served in ministry and was ordained in 2002 by her brother, Pastor William C. Golden. Nancy attended public schools in Hardeman County and continued her education at Lane College in Jackson, Tn and the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tn. Nancy found joy in reading, cooking, making jewelry, singing, and caring for others.

She dedicated 30 years of service to the State of Tennessee as a teacher at Western Mental Health Institute, where she served faithfully until her retirement.

Nancy’s loving memory will be treasured by her sister, Ms. Alice P. Morant of Houston, Texas; her brother, Pastor William C. Golden (LaQuetta) of Bowie, Maryland; her sons, Aldrick Perkins of Sheffield, Alabama, and Shannon Buchanan III of Nashville, Tennessee; and her granddaughter, Ebony (Stefoneo) Herron, whom she lovingly raised as her own. She also leaves to cherish her memory one grandson, Aldrickus Perkins; two granddaughters, Sherigan Jones and Cosmia Perkins; four great-grandchildren, Breniya Whitford, Tyson Herron, Zayden Herron, and Tafari Crutcher; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special sister cousin, Bobbie Lue McKinnie. Nancy’s legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and unwavering devotion to family, friends, and community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered
