Mrs. Ora Mae Woods was born February 27, 1945 to the late Callie Peeler and Joe Rucker in Fayette County.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday March 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Bethel's God's House of Promise with Pastor Dwight Rucker in charge.  Burial was in the May's Hill MB Church Cemetery-Bolivar and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

Ora Woods attended Hardeman County Schools. She was employed at Harman Automotive, Joe’s Restaurant and later Maxwell Big Star. She love spending time with her family, cooking, watching television (especially her Lakers). Her favorite relaxing place was sitting in her rocker on the front porch.

Ora confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Mays Hill MB Church. Ora was united in Holy Matrimony to Roosevelt Woods and to this union, six children was born.

Ora was preceded in death her parents; one brother, John O. Rucker; two sisters, Melvia Fason and Sylvester Peeler.

Ora leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters; Melany (Nolen) Harris of Whiteville, TN., Regina (Melvin) Phinnessee of Grand Junction, TN., Teresa (Stephen) Lockett of Red Banks, MS., Clareatha Woods and Latonya Woods of Bolivar, TN: one son; Berry Woods of Nashville, TN.: ten grandchildren; Jay (Kiah) Watkins, Timrecus Larkett, Teresha Woods, Melchondra Phinnessee, Shelvonna Allen, Stephen Lockett, Jr., Lametria Phinnessee, Lameshia Williams, Tayshawn Lockett, and Kamron Thompson: four sisters; Almedia Avent, Joanne (Eddie) Pruitte, Linda Rucker, and Clara Crews: two brothers; Jimmy (Dorothy) Rucker, and Quincy (Helga) Rucker: one sister not by blood but by love; Martha (Jessie) Herron: two special ladies Ora assisted in raising as her own daughter and granddaughter; Regina (Rickey) Jackson, and Creshunda Miller: Special friend; Helen Messenger and a host of great grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
