Pearl (Johnson) Williams
January 18, 1943 ~ October 23, 2025 (age 82)
Pearl Johnson Williams was born on January 18, 1943, in Fayette County, Tennessee, to the late Walter and Sallie Ann Johnson.
She received her early education at Clover Garden School and later graduated from Allen White School in Whiteville, Tennessee. Her love for learning and teaching remained evident throughout her life. Pearl continued her education and earned many degrees, including an Associate of Arts in Business Administration, an Associate of Religion, a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration (Cum Laude) from American InterContinental University, Schaumburg, Illinois, as well as a Master’s in Theological Doctrine and a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling both from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia.
Pearl accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She used her gifts in music ministry for many years, serving several churches and touching countless lives with her gifts and unwavering faith. One of her greatest joys was studying the Word of God. She was a devoted Bible student and a passionate Bible Study teacher who loved to share wisdom and encouragement through Scripture. Pearl was united in holy matrimony to Dr. Clarence Alonzo Williams. Pearl was a faithful first-lady, who helped her husband in ministry for over thirty years.
Together they shared 48 years of love, devotion, and partnership, until his passing. Their union was blessed with four children: Adrienne (Marshall) Jones of Bolivar, Tennessee; Precious Williams of St. Louis, Missouri; Pastor Clarissa (Andre) Cook, Esq. of Cincinnati, Ohio; Master Sgt. Clarence (Keiko) Williams of O’Fallon, Illinois.
Pearl had many achievements in her career; however, her life was centered around faith and family. Pearl was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister and aunt. She was instrumental in the upbringing of her grandchildren, pouring love, wisdom, and guidance into each of them. She adored her nieces and nephews and shared an unshakeable bond with her sisters. Family was her greatest joy. But make no mistake, Pearl was “spicy.” It was never advisable to get on her bad side because she would definitely set things in proper order! Pearl passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Pearl leaves to cherish her legacy sisters: Martha Darris of St. Louis, Missouri, Opal (Pastor and Legislator Johnny) Shaw of Bolivar, Tennessee, godbrother Jimmie Lee (Hertha) Robertson of Whiteville, Tennessee ,her children; eleven grandchildren: Chequita Dorell (Rick), Douglas (Cindy), Tiffany, Shawnte’, Kevin, Precious, Kyle, Asa (Dewey IV), Andre (Alexius), Braden, and Alonzo; twelve great-grandchildren: Jordan, Mikayla, Arielle, Ariah, Allison, Kailyn, Suraya, Sange, Corey, Eli, Zachariah, and Anaiah; one great-great grandchild: Nicholas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, and friends. Pearl lived a life of faith, dignity, and grace. Her love was steady, her presence strong, and her spirit unwavering. She has finished her earthly assignment and is now resting safely in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
