Pedro Hussey

Mr. Pedro Hussey was born on September 1, 1947, to the late Felix and Opa (Turner) Hussey in Grand Junction, TN. He was the youngest of ten children. He departed this life on February 10, 2024.

His funeral service was held on Sunday February 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Campbell Chapel MB Church with Pastor William Young in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Pedro attended elementary school at Grand Junction Elementary School and was a graduate of Bolivar Industrial High School Class of 1965. He married Gertdine McKinnie, September 30, 1967, and to this union, two children were born.

He was employed at Master Slack for many years and worked at Nat T. Winston Developmental Center until he retired. During retirement he was busy as custodian of Ridgecrest Senior Apartments. He married Arnetia Williamson on December 31, 2005, and was a devoted husband for 18 years. He enjoyed playing baseball, grilling, going fishing, and spending time with grandkids and family. Pedro accepted Christ at an early age and joined the St. Paul Skipper Springs M.B. Church. He later moved to Bolivar, TN. He then joined Bethlehem M.B. Church and faithfully served there. He later moved his membership to the Campbell Chapel M.B. Church where he served faithfully as Chairman of the deacon ministry, choir member, song leader, Sunday School teacher, and whatever task he was asked to do until his passing. His favorite song was “We’ve Come a Long Way.”

Pedro was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings: Jenus Hussey, Della Jones, Elmo Hussey, Willie Bob Hussey, Ella B. Hussey, Edna Hussey and Etta G Lambert and one grandson, Christopher Herron. He leaves to cherish fond memories: His wife, Arnetia; his children Michele (Wesley) Winfrey of Clive, Iowa and Eric (Erica) Hussey of Lavergne,TN; six grandchildren, Marquiza Herrron, Emmanuel Hussey, Wesleigh Jane Winfrey, Ethan Hussey, Evan Hussey, Rachel Winfrey; one Sister; Annie L. Hussey of Memphis, TN; one brother, Henry (Willie Mae) Hussey of Grand Junction, TN; one sister in law, J. P. Hussey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other in laws and friends.
