April 28, 1939 ~ November 27, 2021 (age 82)

Prentice was born April 28, 1939 in Hardeman County, Hickory Valley, Tennessee to the late Mr. George E. Bills and Mrs. Pearl Ada Futrell Bills.

His graveside service was held on Friday December 3, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Rivers of Life Int'l Ministries Cemetery with Pastor Dwight Rucker in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery-Grand Junction and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

As a young child, Prentice professed a hope in Christ Jesus and joined Mays Hill Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, Tennessee. Later in life, he move to Chicago, Illinois and became a successful business person. He further worked at Howard Johnson for several years.

Prentice lived in Chicago for forty years and moved back to Tennessee in 2001 and reunited with his home church, Mays Hill Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, Tennessee. He loved his church and the church members.

Mr. Bills, as we sometimes called him, was united in Holy Matrimony to Arlena Anderson. To this union six children were born, Mark Wayne Bills, Milton Lee Bills, Sandra Bills, Shirley Bills, Carolyn Bills and Robin Bills. Prentice was well known in the community and would not hesitate to assist those in need.

Prentice was preceded in death by his mother and father: George and Pearl Ada Futrell Bills; three of his children: Milton Lee Bills, Sandra Bills Williford, and Robin Bills Ward; six brothers: George Jeff Bills, Lorenzo Bills, D.C. Bills, and Joe Louis Bills, Forrest Bills, Paul David Bills; sister: Dorothy Euvanell Bills.

Prentice was blessed with eleven grandchildren and thirty great grand-children and he loved them all as only he could. He spoke of them often and loved when they came to visit.
Also left to cherish his memory is a son: Mark Wayne Bills; two daughters: Carolyn Bills Sims (Maurice) and Shirley Bills Ward. He also leaves two brothers, John Andrew Bills and Milton Bills of Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Dr. Juanita Bills Johnson of Trenton, TN, Hattie Bills Price (Rev. Erby) of Bolivar, TN, Earnestine Bills McNeal and Mary Louise Bills both of Bolivar, TN. and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
