Reverend Charlie Lee Jones, 77, of Detroit, Michigan passes away on Monday May 2, 2022.  He was born March 3, 1945 to the late Maynard and Rosetta Jones of Middleton.

His local funeral service was held on Friday May 12, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Greater Springfield MB Church-Bolivar with Pastor Robert Parham in charge.  Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery-Saulsbury and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service. 

He gave his life to Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Oak Hill MB Church.  He later became a member Hopewell MB Church-Detroit where he served as Decon and later entered the ministry.

He was educated in the Hardeman County public schools.

In 1967, while working at the Ford Motor Company, he was drafted into the US Army and served during the Vietnam War.  Also in 1967 he married Mae Toy Reaves and to this union three children were born.  

While in Detroit her was employed as a bus driver for the Detroit Urban Lutheran School.  He was also a business owner.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Michael Mckinnie and Corey Jones; six siblings, Evie Gill, Marie Griffin, Paul Russell, Woodrow, Gaston, and Cornelius Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of fifty-four years, May Toy; two daughters, AdrienneHampton and Melanie Hicks; nine siblings, Maryetta Robinson, Jacob Jones, Emma (Nathaniel) Hill, Ruby (Charles) Miller, Lawrence Jones, Patricia (MKelvin) Womack, Glenn Jones, Wanda (Hubert0 Hamer and Winfred Jones; three grandchildren; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
