Robert Macon, 87, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 18, 2020. He was born on April 3, 1933 to the late Knox and Nonie Macon of Toone. On November 21, 1964, Robert and Ezell (Jimmerson) Macon were united in matrimony. In 2008, she preceded him in death. 

His funeral service was held on Saturday October 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Elder Robert Stitts in charge.  Burial was in the Jimmerson Cemetery-Toone and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

At the time of retirement, Robert worked at Anderson Fruit Farm. He made a living as a farmer to support his large blended family. Robert enjoyed working with his hands and feeling the fresh air on his face. Even after retirement, he spent countless hours outdoors, sitting on his porch, watching traffic go by and waiting for his next victim to tease. Robert was a jokester and loved making people laugh.

Robert was a devoted member of Toone Pentecostal COGIC. He dearly loved his church family and the Lord. He would often say, "I'm all fixed up with the man upstairs."

Robert leaves to cherish his memories; a grandson that he raised as his own, Kendra Macon, 3 daughters; Mary Ann Pirtle and Glenda Macon of Toone, Paula (Ricky) McGowan of Whiteville, 4 stepchildren; Barbara (John) Cheairs, Larry (Diane) Chism, Johnnie (Diane) Chasm & Vanassa (Cleaver) Branch of Toone, 1 sister, Novena Crowder of Washington DC,  and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He had a special bond with granddaughter, Renee "Mata" Fuller, 2 nieces; Deborah Macon and Darlene Macon, 2 friends; Roy Lee Murphy and Ronderrious Wilkes.
