Robert McKinney Obituary

Robert McKinney

April 21, 1971 ~ August 26, 2022 (age 51)

Robert Junior Mckinney was born on April 21, 1971 to Robert Harris and Ora J. Mckinney (Henry).  They were young parents excited about their new baby boy.

His funeral service was held on Saturday September 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Simon Chapel MB Church and Pastor Jerry Crisp was in charge of the service.  Burial was in the Smith Chapel Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Robert attended school in the Chicago area, later relocating with his family to Tennessee.

He attended Bolivar Central High School, where he met the love of his life.

At a young age, he professed his life to Christ and joined Simon Chapel MB church.

Robert completed his education at Whiteville Vocational School and relocated back to the Chicago area, but this was not for long.

Soon, he and his high school sweetheart were joined in Holy Matrimony. Kimberly and Robert were married on September 3, 1994 surrounded by family and friends.

Robert departed from this life on August 26, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Ora J. Mckinney (Henry), stepfather; Michael E. Henry and brothers; Christopher Michael Henry and Robert A. Harris.

Robert was known to many as the local barber. He took pride in his appearance and passed this down to his boys. He stayed groomed. His fragrance would linger long after he left your presence and he had a laugh that was contagious. Robert enjoyed traveling. He believed taking road trips was most relaxing. He often checked on his family with a visit or phone call. Never to meet a stranger, he would flash a quick smile to expose his dimples.

Robert was and will always be remembered for his loving spirit and strong personality. His favorite saying was “you shole know what to say”, leaving a mark that his opinion was the only one that mattered. He loved cooking, playing cards and being around his loved ones.

Robert was employed at Owens - Corning in Jackson Tn, until 2016 due to health complications.

Robert was a devoted member of the Hope Lodge #144 in Jackson, Tn and a member of Dirty Boyz Bikers Club of Jackson Tn.
