February 20, 1934 ~ October 15, 2024
90 Years Old
Roosevelt Hoyle, Sr. was born February 20th, 1934 in Benton County, MS to the late Joe and Lizzie Hoyle.
His funeral service was held on Sunday October 20, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Union Hill MB Church in Ashland, MS with Pastor Randall Woodard in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.
At an early age, he joined the Union Hill M.B. Church. During this time he served on the Usher Board, served as a Deacon, and a member of the male chorus.
He was a faithful member until his health failed. Roosevelt was affectionately know as “Bell”.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father who truly loved his family. In his early years, he farmed and was employed at Harmon Automotive for thirty two years. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, family gatherings and sitting on his porch.
Roosevelt was united in Holy Matrimony to Alma R. Rucker Hoyle on December 24th, 1955.
He entered eternal rest on October 15th 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. Roosevelt was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and C.L. Hoyle; two sisters, Earlene Batts and Sadie Hunt; two sons-in-law, Charles Johnson and Bobby McClellan.
His loving memories will be cherished by his wife, Alma Hoyle; four daughters, Rosemary Thompson (Frank) of Lamar, MS, Lizzie Harris and Phyllis McClellan of Bolivar, TN, Marie Johnson of Batesville, MS; four sons, Roosevelt Jr. (Bessie) of Michigan City, MS, Curtis Hoyle (Patricia) of Ashland, MS, Clay Hoyle (Sherry) and Eric Hoyle (Vette) of Bolivar, TN; twenty nine grandchildren, seventy one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
