Ruth Bell Turner
July 21, 1934 ~ August 19, 2022 (age 88)
Ruth B. Turner was born July 21, 1934 to the late Roosevelt Hill Sr. and Lucille Glass Hill in Hardeman County, TN.
Her funeral service was held on Sunday August 28, 2022 at 12:00 pm @ Mays Hill MB Church and Dwight Rucker was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
She departed this life Friday, August 19, 2022.
She was educated in Hardeman County.
Ruth professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.
Ruth was united in Holy Matrimony to Adell Morrow on August 13, 1951. To this union, thirteen children were born. Adell and Ruth shared thirty years together until his death on November 23, 1981. She later was united to Willie Turner and was united with him for sixteen years, until his death.
Ruth worked many years for Mr. Don and Peggy Mask. After that, she started working at the Town House restaurant, Bakers restaurant, and Bakers converted over to Hills Management. There, she was the lead over the baking department. People knew her from those wonderful rolls and great pies that she made. She worked there until they closed down. She then started doing landscaping work and did it for some years. Her last job was the Buffet House.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Roosevelt and Lucille Hill, Sr.: one son; Early H. Morrow: three daughters; Rosie Walton, Ruthie Smith , and Mattie Polk: one brother; Roosevelt Hill, Jr.: two sisters; Barbara Hill and Frances Falls: six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory: seven daughters; Barbara Walton, Gloria (Gary) Jones, Charlene (Billy) Jones, Louise (Kevin) Lake, Sherry Morrow, Latonia Morrow and Shanika (Nicholas) Williams: two sons; Adell Morrow Jr. and Johnny (Carla) Morrow: one brother; Nathaniel (Emma) Hill: six sisters; Callie Tucker, Mildred Gibson, Hattie Harbert, Ethel Gills, Gracie Hamer, and Carolyn (Booker) Gillespie: forty five grandchildren, one hundred great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
