October 3, 1953 ~ February 18, 2021 (age 67)

Shannon Mill Buchanan, Jr. was born on October 3, 1953 in Brownsville,TN to Bennie Lee Gregory Buchanan and the late Shannon Mill Buchanan, Sr. Shannon was the second of four sibilings. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Springfield M.B. Church. Later in life, he joined Mt. Salem Baptist Church where his membership remained until death.
Shannon attended Hardeman County School system. He graduated from Bolivar Central High in 1971. Shannon decided to continue his education and attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN for two years. He left Nashville and entered the work force. Later he decided to continue his education and begin attending Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. There he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. Shannon desired to continue his education and earned a Master’s Degree from University of Phoenix.
Shannon traveled to many different places touching the lives of many people through his passion for cooking. He also was a master trainer in First Aid and CPR. Shannon had several different professions that he enjoyed doing. Not only did he enjoy his hobbies and his different professions, Shannon enjoyed being around his family and friends. He was a loving husband and believed strongly in education.
Shannon departed this life on February 19, 2021. Preceeding him in death was his father; Shannon Buchanan, Sr. maternal grandparents; Walter and Hassie Gregory and paternal grandparents; John and Tealie Buchanan.
Shannon leaves to cherish his wife: Corsella Buchanan, his mother: Bennie L. Buchanan of Bolivar, TN; his mother-in-law: Georgia Mae Murphy of Whiteville, TN; his son: Shannon Mill Buchanan III, his daughter: Shaina Buchanan of Bolivar, TN. He also leaves two brothers: Michael Buchanan of Bolivar, TN and Gregory (Andrea) Buchanan of Little Rock, Arkansas; two brother-in-laws: Jasper (Theresa) Murphy of Oakland, TN and Masante (Lisa) Murphy of Birmingham, AL; one sister: Sandra Buchanan of Memphis, TN; two sister-in-laws: Faye (Melvin) Bufford of Bolivar, TN and Nanetta (Michael) Ponder of Nashville, TN and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
