Sharon Kay Murrell

Sharon Kay Murrell, affectionately known as "Kay", was born November 19, 1954, to the late Mrs. Virginia Murrell and Mr. Ben Murrell in East St. Louis, MO.
Her funeral service was held on Saturday May 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at Tate Road Church of Christ with Brother Larry Prince in charge of the service. Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery-Bolivar, Tn and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.
She was the second child of six siblings. She was called home on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, from Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Jackson, Tennessee, at 7:39 pm. Kay was a very strong woman, and she bravely fought the battle with her illness until the Lord called her home.
Kay attended Bolivar Industrial and Bolivar Central High School in Bolivar, Tennessee. She was added to the Lord's Church in the mid -1970s. She loved dancing, wrestling, cooking, cleaning, and spending time with family and friends. Kay was a very dedicated and hard worker, and she loved to have fun. Kay's personality was contagious. She kept you laughing. She was the original Queen of Comedy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories three children: two daughters: Tammara (Rodney) Haddix of Bolivar, Tn, and Sharon Shanika Gibbs of Middleton, Tn; one son: Cedric (Christina) Murrell, of Toledo, OH; five siblings: Charlotte Murrell, of Murray, KY, Benjy (Burnette) Murrell, James Murrell, and Brenda Murrell, all of Bolivar, Tn, and Linda (Anthony) Cheairs of Palestine, TX, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, a special friend, Larry Pringle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kay will be dearly missed by many.
