Tenesia Bowers departed this world on January 3, 2025 at the age of 39. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend whose love, compassion, and kindness touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Tenesia Meshonda Bowers was born on August 29, 1985 in East St. Louis , Illinois to Samella Gines and Eric McCray. She was raised in a home where she cultivated deep-rooted values of family, friendship, and service to others. She attended East St. Louis Senior High School before moving to Bolivar, TN in 2002.
Her funeral service was held on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Reverend Rosie Wooden in charge. Burial was in the Little Walnut Grove church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
Tenesia married Terrell Bowers on September 10, 2011. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As a mother and wife, she was the heart and soul of her family, always providing guidance, support, and an endless supply of love. Her children, Trevontae, Trevarious, Taylor and Tyson were the pride and joy of her life, and she instilled in them the values of compassion, perseverance, and kindness.
Tenesia was a member of the Little Walnut Grove Assembly, where she served as an usher. She was an active member until her health failed.
Tenesia Meshonda Bowers is survived by her mother, Samella Gines and her father, Eric McCray (both of St. Louis, MO); her husband, Terrell Bowers (Bolivar, TN); her four children: Trevontae, Trevarious, Taylor, and Tyson ( all of Bolivar, TN); 6 brothers: Jarrell Gines, Darius Gines, DeVontae Gines, Leontre Gines, Raphael Hayes and Eric Gully (all of St. Louis, MO); 1 sister, Shanelle Gines (Dallas, TX),a mother-in-law, Mae Lena Bowers (Bolivar, TN), and a host of sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
