Thomas "Tommy" L. Lumpkins, age 69, of Middleton, Tennessee, passed away on February 21, 2024.

He was born on July 31, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tommy was a man who enjoyed the outdoors, finding joy in activities like fishing and hunting, particularly for deer. He was dedicated to land management and conservation. He participated in the Tennessee Land Stewardship program. Tommy's ability for soil judging led him to become the FFA National Champion in high school. He also enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and golf.

He attended the University of Tennessee Martin where he studied agronomy and animal science. He received a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. He was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. A talented musician, Tommy pursued a career in music after college, playing guitar in the Florida area. He worked for ChemLawn in Memphis and managed his land in Hickory Valley.

Tommy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Christina Lumpkins of Middleton; son, Jacob Lumpkins of Pittsburgh; mother, Betty Mott of Bolton; sister, Vicki (David) of Bolton; 2 nieces, and 2 grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lumpkins, both sets of grandparents, and several beloved dogs, including the "Outlaw Josey Wales" and Buddy.

A service to honor Tommy's life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Pocahontas, TN. Visitation will begin at 10:00, followed by the service at 11:00.
