Thomas Macon

Thomas Macon was born November 10, 1935 to Knox and Nonie Macon in Toone, Tn.

His funeral service was held on Saturday May 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie FH with Pastor George Beauregard in charge.  Burial was in the Clover Chapel MB Church Cemetery-Cloverport, Tn and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

He was educated at Oakhill and Hillfield School. He constantly acknowledged his 8th grade education but his knowledge and wisdom far exceeded his school tenure. He was drafted in the USAF and spent some time deployed overseas. 

In 1958, Thomas met the love of his life, his wife and long time companion, Mattie. To this union, five children were born. 

Mr. Macon as a devoted Christian, who accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Clover Chapel MB Church, serving the Lord faithfully, a a Trustee and Deacon. He worked many years for Kilgore Hares Company in Toone and later retired from Harman Automotive Inc in Bolivar, In his spare time, he loved gardening and fishing. 

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife, Mattie Macon; sons, Thomas (Emelita) Macon and Michael (Valicia) Macon; daughters, Hazel (Curley) Harris and Deborah Macon; brother, Robert Macon; sisters, Nolena Crowder and Shelia McKinley, six grandchildren, four great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
