Tracy Bowers Obituary

Tracy Pernel Bowers

November 27, 1970 ~ December 6, 2020 (age 50)

Tracy Pernell Bowers was born November 27, 1970 to the late Ellis Bowers and Edna Long Davis. On December 6, 2020, Tracy transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home.

His graveside service was held on Saturday December 12, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the HIllfield MB Church Cemetery with Pastor Lawrence Pirtle in charge and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.

Tracy knew God and believed in him and lived his life in a way people could see Christ through him. Tracy accepted Christ as his personal savior early in life and he joined Hillfield Baptist Church where he served faithfully.

Tracy was an exceptional young man, his disability never hindered him from achieving any goals in his life. Tracy inspired so many with his courage, determination, and loving spirit. He loved to educate, sing, ride four -wheelers, and spend time with his family. Wherever he went, his loving spirit and personality created laughter, fun, tears of joy and happiness. Tracy faced many obstacles in life, but he never let anything stop him. Tracy attended University of Tennessee at Martin where he earned his bachelor’s degree, in Interdisciplinary Education and Grand Canyon University where he would have graduated this December with his Master’s. Tracy was a busy young man. He was employed at Western Mental Institution, Hardeman County Board of Education, and Shaw’s Broadcasting.

Now, Tracy rest in the arms of the Lord where he is at peace, no more pain, tears, working, traveling from one job to another. I can hear him saying, “now this is where it’s at.” Tracy’s father, Ellis Bowers: stepfather, George Davis: Grandparents; Arron and Virginia Long, and Guy and Mae Ossie Bowers, all preceded him in death.

Tracy leaves behind his mother, Edna L. Davis: three sisters: Michelle Falls, Regina Elliott, Jessica Davis all of Bolivar, TN: one brother, Guy Bowers of New York: Tracy leaves his nephews and nieces whom he loved deeply, raised as his own and were a father figure to: Mashawn Elliott, Jo’Colby Elliott, Tyrese Falls, Joe Falls Jr, Jaylen Davis, Ja’Kyle Davis, Jamarion Bills, Ja’kyson Bills, Alexis Prather, Destiny Elliott, Kiara Davis and his one great niece, Paris Allen: His aunts Shirley (Vick) Jones and Maxine Long of Bolivar, TN, Daisy (Udell) Futrell of Bolivar, TN , and Daisy (Odell) Neely of New York: four uncles; Jimmy (Dorothy) Long, Lorenzo (Sarah) Longs, John Albert (Diana) Long, of Beaumont, Texas, Bo Bowers of New York: A host of cousins, friends, and students. Tracy considered his cousins John Long (Dinkie), Toinette Jones, Chris Long, Vick Jones Jr, Michael Jones Sr. more like his siblings. He was very proud of them and loved them all dearly.
