Vanessa Beatrice Gray-White passed away on Thursday December 2, 2021 at home after a illness.  She was born on April 22, 1968 in Grand Junction to the late Jim and Earlene Batts of Michigan City, Mississippi. She departed this life on December 2, 2021 at her home with her family. 

Her funeral service was held on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Pastor George White, Sr.  in charge.  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Vanessa confess a hope in Christ at an early age. She later joined Ezekiel MB Church in 1998 where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Vanessa was a very sweet lady; she would give anyone the shirt off her back if she had to. She loved her grandchildren, but Jayden (GMA GBABY), you better not mess with him, because she would tell you about yourself.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, four sisters, four brothers, five brother in laws, and Tony Edwards.

Vanessa leaves to cherished her memories: her husband; George White, Jr.: three daughters; Lakeshia Gray and Cadaryuana Brown of Jackson, TN and Tyra Sullivan of Rhode Island: two sons; Tony Gray of Jackson, TN and Eric Hodges of Lamar, MS: four grandchildren; Zeric, Jayden, Zayden, and Zaylene: seven sisters; Frankie Batts and Evonne Batts Murden of Michigan City, MS, Polly Morgan of Ashland, MS, Casie Batts of Chicago, IL, Bonnie Batts, Samantha Bell, and Tomegia Brown all of Memphis, TN: one aunt, two uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, in laws, and friends. Last but not least in mama’s voice, “My legs and my Mr. Maxwell.
