Willie Lee Burton

September 14, 1940 ~ July 2, 2026 (age 85)

Willie Lee Burton was born in Henderson, TN on September 14, 1940 to the late Rosa Burton and L. Lawler.

His graveside service was held on Sunday July 5, 2026 at Motezuma CME Church Cemetery.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery.  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com is in charge of the professional service.

He departed this earthly home on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Willie attended Chester County Schools up to the 8th grade and then he began his adventure of building, fixing, shaping, & making homes for others.

Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary Lowery and on July 15, 1987, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Verline Johnson.

Willie is preceded in death by his sons, Gary, Anthony, Sebastian Burton, and Ramon Gonzalez; his loving sister, Linda Kay Taylor. Willie Lee leaves to cherish his memories; his daughters, Tammy Massengill, Debbie Mickens, Cyritta Buckley, and JoAnn Moore; his sons, Scott Burton, Willie Neal Burton, Leroy Lowery, and Melvin Lowery. He also leaves his step-children, Tina Woods (James) and Derwin Smith (Stephanie); a special friend of the family, Josephine Clark; brother-in-law, Billy Ray Taylor. Willie is also survived by his sisters, Gwendolyn Woods, Rose Collier, Veronica Woods all from Henderson, TN and his oldest sisters, Dollie Mae Thomas from Omaha, NE and Dorothy Collier of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Michael Woods (Margo) and Josh Woods (Angela). Willie leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family who will cherish his memories
