Winbon Mason, Jr.
April 7, 1946 ~ December 1, 2025 (age 79)
Winbon “Tuby” Mason, Jr., age 79, of Grand Junction, Tennessee, passed away on December 1, 2025. Born in Benton County, Mississippi, he was the son of Winbon Mason Sr. and Minnie Smith Mason. Winbon accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church. Later in life, He joined Spring Chapel A.M.E. church, serving diligently on the Steward Board and the Trustee Board.
He graduated from Bolivar Industrial High School and went on to attend Lane College, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and service. Throughout his career he worked for Winter Garden in Rossville, TN, Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar, TN.
And was the proud owner of Mason’s Backhoe Service.
His dedication to his work and community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Winbon was preceded in death by his parents Winbon, Sr. and Minnie Mason, two sisters, Katherine Watkins and Melveta Mason, and two brothers, Charles Mason and Early Mason. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 54 years, Shirley Jean Webber Mason; two sons, Kelsey Mason (Chiara) and Elvin Mason; one grandchild, Kelshara Mason; his mother-in-law, Tommie Hamilton; brother-in-law, Sam Webber (Claudette); and sisters-in-law; Lottie Kimbrough, Melberter Smith (John), and Jerry Mason. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
