Dedrick Derrell Bowden

1963 -- 2016

Dedrick Derrell Bowden, age 53, passed away unexpectedly in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 24, 2015.

He is survived by his parents, WC and Elsie Bowden, his wife, Marjorie Lynn Bowden, children Derrell Bowden and fiancé, Danyelle Davis, Randal Williams and fiancé, Cynthia Hernandez, Ronnel Williams and fiance’ Samantha Abbott, brother, Fredrick Bowden and wife, Tracey, grandchildren, Quian Bowden, Savannah Williams, Raiden Williams, and Aubrey Williams, and nephews, Brandon Bowden and Tylus Bowden.

Dedrick was born January 28, 1963, in Bolivar, Tennessee.  He graduated from Bolivar High School and entered the US Air Force.  He retired in 2001 as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. Dedrick enjoyed tours of duty stateside and overseas and met many friends along the way.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his time fishing, hunting and motorcycling.  He was a great cook whose skills pleased the palate of many.

Dedrick was known for his booming voice and he spread the gospel singing God’s praises.  He served in many choirs as a dedicated Director.  He was a gifted teacher of the Gospel and was excited to talk about the Word of God. His bright smile, sense of humor and kind and loving spirit brought joy to those he met along the way. His listening ear was always available and he would go out of his way to help others in any way he could. He spent time as a federal employee, state employee and county employee and was serving as the Child Nutrition Director at Montgomery Public Schools.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
