Mrs. Gertrude Parks Baird passed away in Washington D.C. on Monday April 18, 2016.  She was born May 2, 1948 to the late John W. and Anna Parks in Grand Junction, TN.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Hopewell MB Church-Grand Junction with Pastor Roger Pearson in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com wasin charge of the professional service.  

Gertrude professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Hopewell MBC. She attended the Hardeman County public schools and graduated from Bolivar Industrial. After graduating from High School, she joined Job Corp of America and was located in Washington state and obtained a nurses aide Certificate from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Washington.

Gertrude was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for over 20 years until retiring.  She was also employed with Paycheck.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Winston Baird. Two brother in laws preceded her in death; Wilbert Williams and Sherlock Baird.

Gertrude leaves to cherish her memories: her husband;      Winston Baird: two brothers; John Parks of Grand Junction, TN and Edward (Mary) Parks of Cleveland, OH: four sisters; Mary Parks of Grand Junction, TN, Mae Lee (Alfonzo) McMurtry of Camden, MS, Roberta Williams of Chicago, IL, and Ida (Percy) Morgan of Bolivar, TN: two sister in laws; Yvonne Baird-Samuels and Vilma Baird-Clarke: five brother in laws; Gordon Baird, Maurice Baird, Dennis Baird, Louis Baird and Colin Baird and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
