My deepest sympathy goes out to the family! I just received word on the passing of Gertrude. She was a very special person. I met her in Washington D C in 1987she was my Team Leader she the best. I'm so sadden here. My prayers are with you at this difficult time & she will always be in my heart.

I am heart broken and shocked at the news of Gertrude's passing. It has been 20 years since last I saw her, but in the 12 years that I did I felt a deep bond with her, A bond that led me to call her Momma - and have our coworkers tease me about "my Momma." Gertrude was my D.C. mother away from home (Pittsburgh) and an important part of my life. I will mourn her forever.
