Johnnie Edward Williams

1947-2016

Johnnie Edward Williams passed away on Sunday June 19, 2016 at his home.  He was born in Hardeman County on December 8, 1947 to the late Emmitt Lee and  Idell Williams and was the fifth of eight children. 

His funeral service was held on Saturday June 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at union Hill MB Church with Reverend Jerry Crisp in charge.  Burial was in the Mt. Salem Church Cemetery-Hickory Valley and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

Johnnie confessed a hope in Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Mt. Salem MB Church. He attended the Hardeman County public schools and was employed for over twenty years at Johnny Johnson Motors-Bolivar. 

In 1969 he married Mable Joy and to that union four children were born. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; four siblings, Richard and Fred Williams, Dorothy Reaves Hayes and Dollie Oliver.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife  of forty-seven years; four children, Kathy Giles, Jennifer Williams, Cedric (Miko) and Mareco (Tanisha) Williams; eight grand

children; three great grandchildren; five brothers, James (Lois), Jerry (Shelia) LJ (Bessie) Williams, Billie and Willie Cheairs; seven sister, Margaret Robertson, Emma J. Williams, Gloria (Bobby) Jones, Virtia Williams, Angela Williams, Helen Bolden and Crystal Bufford; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
